HOST A GAME

A buzzer in every pocket, anywhere on Earth

Buzz turns every phone into a game-show buzzer. Share one 5-letter code and up to 40 people join on their own devices - around the dinner table, across a classroom, or from another country entirely. The host asks, the fastest finger buzzes, and the host judges the answer. Because the AI writes the questions on any topic you type, in any language, the same game works for a kids' birthday, a science revision session, or a weekly quiz call with grandparents overseas.

The host screen is made to be seen: cast it to a TV with full-screen TV mode or share it in a video call, and the join code plus QR stay pinned on screen during play so latecomers can jump in. Free, browser-only, no sign-up.

How to play

  1. 1Type a topic (anything, in any language), pick a difficulty, and tap Host to get your 5-letter code.
  2. 2Share the code, QR, or link - WhatsApp it to family abroad or read it out across the table.
  3. 3Everyone joins at coolfamilygames.com/join on their own phone. No app, no account.
  4. 4Read the question from your host screen; players slam their on-screen buzzer the moment they know it.
  5. 5The first buzz locks everyone else out - judge the spoken answer right (+1) or wrong, then reset.
  6. 6The code stays on your screen during play, so anyone can join mid-game and buzz from the next question.

Frequently asked questions

Can we play with family in another country?๏ผ‹

Yes. Everyone joins with the same 5-letter code from wherever they are, and the buzzers race in real time. Run it alongside a video call - the host reads the question aloud on the call and the phones settle who buzzed first.

How do the buzzers work?๏ผ‹

Each player gets a big buzzer button on their own phone. The first tap after the question wins the buzz and locks the others out; the host judges the spoken answer and awards the point, then resets the buzzers for the next round.

Does the AI write the questions?๏ผ‹

Yes - type any topic in any language and pick a difficulty, and the AI generates the question list for your game. A built-in bank takes over automatically if AI is unavailable, so the game always works.

How many players can join?๏ผ‹

2 to 40 players on their own devices - it scales from a two-player duel to a whole classroom or family reunion.

Can someone join mid-game?๏ผ‹

Yes. The join code and QR stay visible on the host screen while you play, so a late arriver can scan it and buzz in from the very next question.
