Taboo is a fast, funny word-guessing game where the challenge isn't just describing a word - it's describing it without the most obvious words. Those forbidden words are exactly the ones you desperately want to use, which leads to a lot of frantic, creative, and hilarious clue-giving. It's a party favourite and a fantastic classroom vocabulary exercise. The AI bar deals custom decks - type any theme in any language, pick the age group and difficulty, and describe words from your own world. And it survives distance: on a video call the clue giver simply reads their own screen and describes to their far-away team, no screen share needed.

How do you play Taboo?๏ผ
One player describes the target word to their team without saying any of the five forbidden words listed on the card. Correct guesses score points; using a forbidden word loses a point. Beat the timer for the highest score.
What counts as a foul?๏ผ
Saying any forbidden word, part of a forbidden word, or the target word itself. Gestures and sound effects are usually banned too - agree on house rules with your group.
How many players do I need?๏ผ
At least two teams of two, but it scales to big groups. One person on the guessing team should watch for fouls.
Can I change the round length?๏ผ
Yes - pick 45, 60, or 90 seconds before you start. You can also end a round early at any time.
Can we play taboo on a video call?๏ผ
Yes - the clue giver opens this page on their own device (nobody else should see it) and describes the word over the call while their team guesses. Score on the honour system, then the other team's clue giver takes over.
Can the AI make cards about our own topics?๏ผ
Yes - type any theme in any language into the AI bar, pick an age group and difficulty, and it deals a fresh deck of target words with five forbidden words each. A built-in deck keeps the game playable when AI is off.
