About Counting Fun
A free counting game for children of three and up: count the pictures, tap the right number. Three levels up to twenty, the question read aloud, and nothing to lose.
Counting things you can see is how counting starts - a numeral means nothing until it is attached to a row of apples. That is why the pictures come first here and the numeral second, and why the wrong answers are always within three of the right one: offering 5 and 7 next to 6 makes a child count, while offering 91 turns it into a guess. There is no timer and no way to lose, because a four-year-old who is being timed stops counting and starts panicking. Three levels take it from counting to five, to ten, to twenty.
Frequently asked questions
What age is this for?+
About three to seven. Start at the first level, which counts to five, and move up when that is easy.
Does my child need to read?+
No. The question is read aloud, and the answers are numerals and pictures.
What happens if they get it wrong?+
The button they tapped fades and a friendly line invites another go. Nothing is lost and the game never ends badly.
Is it timed?+
No. Nothing in the kids section is timed.
How long does it take?+
Ten questions, so a couple of minutes - short enough to finish before attention runs out.
