Name Ten
A category, a clock, and ten answers to say out loud before it runs down.
๐ฅ 1 player, or a team shoutingName Ten
You get a category and a clock. Say your answers out loud - as many in one breath as you like, it will pick them apart - and get to the target before the time runs out.

Your browser does the listening, not this site: no audio is ever sent to us, nothing is recorded and nothing is stored. In Chrome the speech itself is recognised by Google, the same as a voice search - if you would rather not, the Type instead button plays exactly the same game.

About Name Ten
A category, a clock, and ten answers to say out loud. Name ten colours, ten things in a kitchen, ten sports. Say several in one breath and it pulls them apart. Free, no sign-up, and it plays by typing too.
Name Ten is the oldest party game there is, and the only reason it has not been a computer game before is that judging spoken answers is harder than it looks. A player under a clock says three things in one breath, the recogniser mishears one word in ten, and somebody who says grapes after already saying grape is not giving you a new answer. All of that is handled here: a burst of speech is pulled apart into as many answers as it really holds, longer words are forgiven a mishearing, plurals collapse onto their singular, and a longer phrase is always taken before a word hidden inside it. The categories are deliberately ones with a knowable answer list, because being told that a real answer does not count is the fastest way to stop playing. It works by typing too, which makes it a decent quick-fire word game even in a quiet room.
Frequently asked questions
Can I say several answers at once?๏ผ
Yes, and that is the fastest way to play. Saying apple, banana, orange in one breath scores all three.
Why did my answer not count?๏ผ
Either it was not on that category's list, or you had already said it. Repeats are called out on screen rather than silently ignored, so you know which it was.
Do I need a microphone?๏ผ
No. If your browser cannot listen, or the microphone is blocked, it becomes a typing game with the same clock and the same scoring.
Is my voice recorded?๏ผ
No audio reaches this site, nothing is recorded and nothing is stored. In Chrome the recognition itself is done by Google, exactly as a voice search is - the Type instead button avoids that entirely.
Can a group play?๏ผ
Yes. Put the phone in the middle and let everybody shout - it does not care who said what, only what was said.
