Maths for Year 1
Ages 5-6 ยท Year 1 / Grade 1Maths for Year 1 / Grade 1
Ages 5-6. Counting, times tables, fractions, percentages and algebra - generated fresh every time, so it never repeats.
Questions are picked fresh every run from across Year 1 topics, so no two goes are the same. Nothing is saved anywhere but this device.
Too easy or too hard?
What Year 1 covers
Adding and taking away within twenty, counting in twos, fives and tens, and the number that comes before or after.
Topics in this set
Maths questions are generated rather than stored, so the numbers change on every run. There is no set of answers to memorise and no end to the practice.
The three levels
All three ask Year 1 questions. The level changes how much help you get, not how hard the maths is.
No clock, three lives and two helpers. Take as long as you like.
Twenty-five seconds a question, three lives, one helper.
Fifteen seconds, two lives, no helpers. Bigger score if you hold on.
For the grown-up in the room
- Every answer is explained, right or wrong. That line is the part that teaches.
- The results screen breaks the round down by topic, so you can see what to practise rather than just a score.
- Read-aloud is on by default at this age, so a child who cannot read the question yet can still play alone.
- Nothing is stored anywhere but this device, and no score from here goes on a public board.
